Valentine's Day Information

Valentine's Day is always a favorite holiday in our classroom. It provides wonderful opportunities for reinforcing the development of friendships as well as early literacy development. Both are goals we continually seek to promote in our classroom.

We will celebrate the holiday during class on Thursday, February 12th, and Friday, February 13th. We will have a special snack and will "deliver" classmate valentines. Please send a valentine for each classmate (16 children) leaving the outer envelopes blank to help facilitate easier distribution. Next week in class we will be decorating sacks to hold all those wonderful greetings.

We find the preschoolers enjoy making notes and pictures for each other during the Valentine holiday. To facilitate this activity, we are adding more supplies to the writing area including Valentine cards, stickers, envelopes, and a mailbox. Let the writing (including drawing, scribble "writing", letter-like forms, inventive spelling, and perhaps identifiable words and names) begin!
